If you're experiencing connectivity or performance issues with your printer, modem, or computer, a power cycle can often help resolve the problem. Please follow the appropriate steps below based on the device you're troubleshooting:
šØļø Printer
Power cycle your printer if:
- It's unresponsive or frozen
- Itās showing a persistent error message
- It's not printing even though the job was sent
Steps:
1. Turn off the printer using the power button.
2. Unplug it from the wall for at least 30 seconds.
3. Plug it back in and power it on.
4. Wait until it finishes initializing, then try your print job again.
š Modem or Router
Power cycle your modem/router if:
- Youāve lost internet access
- Network speed is unusually slow
- Devices canāt connect to Wi-Fi
Steps:
1. Unplug the modem/router from the wall (donāt just press the power button).
2. Wait 60 seconds.
3. Plug it back in and allow 2ā3 minutes for full reboot.
4. Confirm internet connectivity on your device.
š„ļø Computer (PC/Mac)
Power cycle your computer if:
- Itās running slowly or freezing
- Programs aren't responding
- You're having trouble connecting to the internet or network drives
Steps:
1. Save any open work.
2. Click **Start > Power > Restart** (or use Apple menu > Restart).
- If frozen, hold the power button for 10 seconds to force shutdown.
3. Wait for it to fully reboot before logging back in.

Reboot if:
- Itās frozen or displaying errors
- It's stuck on "Connectingā¦" or not accepting payments
Steps:
1. Press and Hold buttons 1 - 5 - 9 all at the same time for three to five seconds until it prompts a new screen
2. In the Password field, type 166832, and hit Enter (Green Circle) Key
3. Select Reboot button, the Genius device should reboot after a few minutes
