In the app’s settings, choose “Meeting Owl” for both the camera and microphone options. This ensures you’re using the Owl’s camera, microphone, and speaker for the meeting.
Start or join your meeting as you normally would. The Owl will automatically display the room and switch to focus on active speakers.
3. Using the Owl Camera in Meetings
Automatic Focus and 360° View:
The Owl has a unique 360° panoramic view, with a dynamic split screen that zooms in on people who are speaking.
As people in the room talk, the Owl will automatically adjust the camera to focus on them, creating a more engaging experience for remote participants.
Muting and Unmuting:
To mute, tap the touch-sensitive mute button on top of the Owl. The indicator light will turn red when muted and green when unmuted.
Be mindful of muting to avoid unintended disruptions during your meeting.
Adjusting Volume:
Use the volume control on your conferencing app or computer to adjust the Owl’s speaker volume.
4. Customizing Settings with the Owl Labs App (Optional)
You can adjust the camera zoom, center focus, or disable automatic speaker focus. These options are useful if the Owl doesn’t pick up a speaker as expected.
Update Firmware:
Check for software updates in the app periodically to ensure optimal performance and new features.
5. Troubleshooting Common Issues
Audio Issues (People Can’t Hear You):
Confirm the Meeting Owl is selected as the default audio device in your conferencing app.
Check the mute button on the Owl and in your conferencing app.
Video Quality (Blurry or Not Focused):
Place the Owl on a stable, unobstructed surface in the center of the table.
Restart the Owl by unplugging it for 10 seconds, then plugging it back in.
Device Not Recognized:
Unplug and reconnect the USB cable. Restart your conferencing app or try a different USB port on your computer.
If issues persist, check your computer’s settings to make sure the Meeting Owl is recognized as a connected device.
